Nature in Absentia (5)

Created on: Saturday, January 01, 2022
As an environmental, community-based artist the crux of my practice is inspired by Rachel Carson's statement that “The balance of nature is not a status quo; it is fluid, ever shifting, in a constant state of adjustment. Man, too, is part of this balance.” “Nature in Absentia” expands upon this theme by focusing on our changing landscapes, as seen through the lens of climate justice and the recent mass migrations of humans, plants and animals due to globalization, political unrest, pollution and climate change.
