Adobe Seed Sculpture & Natural Pigments
Last year in August, for the ecoartspace outdoor exhibition Where There Is No Name for Art, a series of ephemeral site works were installed on the lands at our local Audubon center in Santa Fe. The image above was taken a couple weeks ago, a sculpture that's slowly disappearing, dispersing native seeds.
This month, we will welcome ten of our members who are coming from New York, California, Arizona and Texas, to New Mexico for the Adobe Seed Sculpture & Natural Pigments Workshop, happening at Chelenzo Farms in Cerrillos. It will be an exciting week of community building and knowledge sharing engaging aesthetics and the environment. Thank you to Rubin Olguin and Jeanne Dodds who will be leading the workshop
We still have spots left for the fall 2025 Sustain(ability) & the Art Studio course. This is an incredible opportunity to work with Anna Chapman and hear from our member speakers Nicole Dextras (bioplastics) and Koyoltzintli (ceramic/sound), while developing what could be the start of a series of new work for our members. Deadline September 1
Soils Turn is deep into the design phase and is looking incredible. We have already received over 60 pre-orders, though would like to get at least half of the edition of 300 in the cue this month, to help pay for printing before October. You will find the list of 176 artists/scientists included in Soils Turn below
We will continue hiatus from the Dialogues through August, and resume on September 18 with a Zoom focused on Decolonizing your practice. Also note, there's a call below titled Novel Bodies, which is an opportunity to expand your practice to include scientific posters. It's time to shed doing business as usual and we are here to support you. Sending everyone rest and respite during these last days of summer!

Online Course for Members
October 18, 2025 - December 20, 2025
DEADLINE September 1, 2025
This will be our seventh course designed exclusively for ecoartspace members that will prepare artists to develop ways of thinking about sustainability in their practice, both conceptually and physically. Participants will learn how to wildcraft art materials, a practice that requires one to deepen their relationship with land, creativity, and self. We will also think critically about how one’s community and ecosystem are vital allies in a time of socio-ecological destabilization.
All classes will be held on Saturdays from 2-4pm ET. The first three sessions will take place over three consecutive weeks, beginning on October 18. The final two classes will take place over two months, giving student time to execute a creative project of their own inspired by course content.
Cost is $375 per member Approximately 12 participants max. Three scholarships available.

My
work delves into the concept of deep time, rooted in geological
processes, set against the immediacy of changing weather patterns and
the repercussions of a warming climate. The need to document change lies
at the heart of my practice—a thematic thread woven into every visual
narrative, reflecting the urgency of our evolving world. Collaboration with natural elements is central to my process, whether
through immersion in seawater, the gentle patter of rain, or the
delicate inclusion of plant specimens. Sunlight, silt, and soil aren't
mere tools but active forces shaping my outcomes, forging a visceral
bond with viewers. www.aindreasscholz.com

ecoartspace has
served as a platform for artists addressing environmental issues since
1999. In 2020, we transitioned to a membership model. Members include
artists, scientists, professionals, students, advocates and institutions sharing
resources and supporting each other's work. This is an inclusive,
non-competitive collaborative environment where we imagine and make
real a healthy, equitable, resilient future.
